HOW CAN YOU HELP

1

Write to your MP

Writing to your MP, either as a consumer or as an upholsterer. If you are concerned about your exposure to toxic CFRs in the workplace asking your MP for help is the most effective way to contribute to this campaign.

We are hoping to encourage enough MP's to raise questions in Parliament that will force the Minister who has the power to change the law through her role as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Business and Trade (this is Kate Dearden, Labour MP for Halifax) to focus on this important issue and implement change.

We strongly encourage you to write in your own words and explain why this issue matters to you personally. First-hand experiences and individual perspectives carry far more weight than standard wording.

To support you, we have provided template letters for consumers, upholsterers, and others working in the furniture trade. These are intended as a backup or reference if needed, and can be adapted to suit your own views. The templates can be downloaded here - or email us at info@furnituretoxicbylaw.com

2

Tell your GP

If you experience any commonly reported health issues - from itchy skin and weeping eyes to breathing problems, chest pain, exhaustion, autoimmune conditions, or fertility concerns - PLEASE make sure you tell your doctor that you are an upholsterer and clearly explain your level of exposure.

Creating a medical record is vital. A documented paper trail helps demonstrate the real human harm being caused.

3

Spread the word
